About Dragonball Z--Toriyama--the mangaka wanted to quit doing the series, but Shueisha (his publisher) wouldn't let him. So he purposefully drew out the chapters to try to get people to stop reading the series. Didn't work out too well.

BTW, With Spirited Away the meaning changes with the dub v. sub. 'cause the dub cut a line from the original.
